About a Storyteller

Specializing in slow travel and seasonal extension, I've shaped my perspective through a life in motion. Moving across global landscapes for more than two decades has taught me to read the raw seasonality of the places I visit. Moving slowly allows for intimate connections, keen observations and vivid memories that form the foundation of my work.

I'm a natural-born storyteller with a passion for writing dating back to childhood. The biggest lesson from a quarter-century in the field is that storytelling isn't just an art form; it's the foundation of communication and a destination's ultimate economic engine.

My strategic approach wasn't built in a vacuum or a corporate agency office; it's backed by over 25 years of global, boots-on-the-ground tourism, hospitality, and executive leadership. From studying media and broadcasting in college to guiding tours, managing tourism operations, and eventually building, owning, and operating my own accommodation business in Europe, I know firsthand what it takes to keep a destination sustainable when the peak season ends.

Spearheading one of the largest local responses to a natural disaster in New Zealand's history, then launching the European branch of an international non-profit, I learned the power of strategic narrative to build relationships and strengthen community resilience.

Today, I combine that executive background, media training, extensive tourism knowledge, and deep conservation experience with an elite writing craft, learning local languages and connecting intimately with different cultures. From sustainable destination development and responsible tourism to regional economic development, my top priority is positive impact. I don't guess a region's identity from afar. I embed myself in communities, identify the hidden stories, and draw them out to share with the world using the authentic voice of the people who live there.
